Just got back into the office/shop today and have sent out the first batch of killswitches but ran into a shipping issue.
If your tracking link shows “Delivered” or looks like it was already used, you’re not crazy. A number of Shopify sellers (me included) saw USPS tracking numbers get reused over the weekend, which can cause the tracking page to briefly display the previous shipment’s history.
This does not mean your order was delivered to the wrong person today, it usually just means the tracking number was recycled and the page is showing old data.
What to expect next:
Once USPS scans your package into their network (acceptance or the first sorting scan), the tracking page often starts showing the new shipment’s updates.
In some cases the old “Delivered” event may still appear in the history, but new scans should begin to show movement for your order. First scans can sometimes take 24 to 48 hours depending on weekend backlog and the local post office.
I’m monitoring the situation and adjusting on my end. Starting Tuesday, June 9, I’ll be purchasing USPS labels through a third-party tool (PayPal Shipping) until the platform label issue is fully resolved. That should prevent any new recycled tracking numbers from being assigned meanwhile.
If your tracking still shows no new scans after 48 hours, email me and I’ll take a closer look.
